The Air Conditioning – Ductwork and Insulation Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) outlines the main hazards and risks associated with the removal, installation, maintenance and repair of air conditioning and air handling systems including risk of falls, work in confined spaces, hazardous atmospheres, use of chemicals, hazardous manual tasks, electrical hazards, hazardous materials, use and operation of plant, use of power tools and noise. The SWMS provides details of the health and safety precautions (including protective clothing and PPE) required for work involving air conditioning ductwork and insulation. (Note: Due to significant variations in Respirable Crystalline Silica (RCS) requirements between states and territories, reference to regulations, codes of practice and guidance material in each jurisdiction is recommended.)
